Theatre Update (Mr. Reiff)
Thespian Conference
Conference went well, Good experience for all students
Same weekend planned for next year
Looking into a local conference in August, 1 day, SM schools only
JR/SR’s – several scholarship opportunities at conference
Thoroughly Modern Millie
Show dates: January 26, 27 & 28 at 7pm
Tech Call: Jan 10, 11 & 12 – 7-10pm, Jan. 14 – 9a-5p
Needs for show:
7 Vintage typewriters
8 candle stick phones
Industrial bug sprayers
Costumes – ok
Monday, Jan. 16 9a-1 or 2p – Rehearsal – all students - full run through
Spotlighters Night on Jan. 25, start 6:20p – extended intermission for band participants to perform SM band festival same night
T-shirt will be ordered
Thoroughly Modern Millie – ticket sales
Website live on Jan. 10 for Spotlighters ticket orders
Open to Public on Jan. 16
Lunch sales – Jan. 23-25
Theatre
Viking Voyage night – Jan. 18 - asking kids to help on bridge to “sell theatre”
Millie ticket sales on this night too.

Choir Update (Coach V)
February 7, Masterworks Concert – All Choirs
February 23, Chorale event: Wichita – Century 2 Performing Arts Center –
Depart school 8:00am-8:30am / 2:45pm-3:15pm performance / evening return
20 parents are confirmed
February 24, Three Middle Level Choir Students will perform at Chorale event: Wichita – Century 2 Performing Arts Center – 8am for all day rehearsals and 5pm concert: Emily Herbers, Houston St. John, & Matt Connell
March 6, SMNW – Chorale & Mads
Auditions for next year Choirs will take place on March 21 & 22
Students have been asked to sign up by class for next year. This will give counselors numbers to get started with until the actual auditions take place.
Auditions for Spotlight Spectacular will take place on March 28 & 29
Students interested in April Contest need to have 2 songs picked and provide accompanist name by Jan. 27, Any grade, Any Student, Song choices to include Italian and English Art.
April 14 Regional Solo/Ensemble contest, BVHS
April 28 State Solo/Ensemble contest, Emporia State

Need Volunteers for Lunch Sales the week before the musical
Will shut off On Line ordering once lunch sales begin
Different color tickets for different nights

Flowers (Jennifer Morris)
Will offer a Spotlighters Performance “Pre-Order Flowers”, Notes & Flowers will be delivered backstage on Thursday evening. Jan. 25

Concessions (Kathy Flood)
Ask parents to bring individually wrapped 1-2 dozen baked goods
Will need about 9 parents to help sell each night / 3 areas

Will need help for Millie for all three nights.

Pizza Shoppe is planned for dinner, Wednesday, Jan. 25
Will ask parents to provide cookies

Programs (Denise Riedel)
Family & business ads – have received a few – Christmas break and quickness of show had to effect
Actors photos & Bios will be included in the program
Will include historical info for 50 years of SMW Theatre
