Les Mis
Les Misérables, based on Victor Hugo's novel of the same name, is set in early 19th-centruy France. It's the story of Jean Valjean, a man who spent 19 years in prison for stealing a loaf of bread for his starving family, and how he builds a new life for himself after breaking his parole. It is also the story of Javert, the police inspector pursuing Jean Valjean. Along the way, we meet Fantine, a factory worker struggling to send money to her child's caretakers, who is wrongfully fired, becomes ill, and ends up leaving her child in the care of Valjean. Fast forward to 1832, a time of political unrest, and we meet Marius and his friends planning a revolution. Come see the show to find out how it all turns out!
